UP Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Pre-MatricPre-Matric Scholarship( SC/ST/General)

This scholarship is for students in 9 and 10 classes. The family income must be less than ₹1, 00,000 in a year. It covers Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and General Category.

Post Matric Intermediate Scholarship( SC/ST/General)

This category is for class 11 and 12 students. It imposes income limits depending on a category as follows:

  • For SC/ST students, the family income in one financial year should not exceed 250000.
  • For the General category, the income limit is INR 200000

Post-Matric Scholarship( other than intermediate)

This is a scholarship for further studies in college, universities or PhD programs. The income limit is under: The annual family income should not exceed 2,00,000 for the general category students.

The family income limit for students under the SC/ST category is 2,50,000.

Minority Pre-Matric Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

This category is for students of classes 9 and 10 from minority communities. Students must have household incomes of less than one lakh per year.

OBC Post-Matric Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Other Backward Classes (OBC) students of Class 11 and 12 categories can apply. The annual income of the family should be less than ₹ 2,00,000.

Post-Matric Scholarship Benefits

For M.Phil, PhD, B.Tech, and similar courses

  • General, OBC and Minority students get ₹550 per month if they are day scholars and ₹1,200 if they stay in hostels.
  • SC/ST students receive ₹7,000 annually for day scholars and ₹13,500 for those in hostels.

For BA, B.Sc, B.Com

  • General, OBC and Minority students receive ₹300 (day scholar) and ₹570 (residential).
  • SC/ST students are provided ₹3,000 (day scholar) and ₹6,000 (residential) per year.

For ITI/Diploma courses

  • General, OBC and Minority students receive ₹230 (day scholar) and ₹380 (residential).
  • SC/ST students are given ₹2,500 (day scholar) and ₹4,000 (residential) per year.
